August 21, 2009See Custom Consoles on stand 8.B15, IBC 2009, Amsterdam, September 11-15 A highly innovative addition to Custom Consoles' range of studio furniture, the new EditOne is designed to accommodate desktop editing and graphics workstations. A key feature of the new desk is its ability to be despatched as a 120 x 100 cm EUR 2 euro-pallet at much lower transportation costs than are required for pre-assembled furniture. EditOne has a 2,300 by 1,030 mm footprint including a profiled horizontal worksurface with an optional dual 2 U desktop pod. A 13 U high equipment bay supports the left half of the desk which is set forward at a 15 degree angle for easy access. The equipment bay includes space for a tower PC. Fully integrated cable management allows wiring to be routed easily throughout the desk structure as well as enabling easy connection to external equipment and breakout boxes. The equipment bay is well ventilated and provides easy equipment access from front or rear. The EditOne desktop is curved at each corner and and protected by PVC edging. Desk height is 720 mm. "Transport costs can easily add significantly to the price of a bespoke studio desk," comments Custom Consoles' Sales Manager Gary Fuller. "EditOne is our first-ever flatpack which means substantial savings in shipping costs. The desk can be assembled quickly and easily by the client while maintaining the same standards of robust construction, high ergonomic efficiency and attractive styling which clients naturally expect from Custom Consoles. It can also be supplied factory-assembled. EditOne is available in a variety of worktop finishes to match specific room decor. The underside is surfaced in black melamine with a silver-anodise leg. EditOne conforms with current European standards for ergonomic and structural integrity and comes with a two-year guarantee. Manufactured at Custom Consoles' UK factory, it can be delivered within typical lead times of seven to 10 working days. Custom Consoles EditOne will be introduced at IBC 2009, Amsterdam, in September.
