Custom Consoles Module-R chosen for Midlands shopping centre security control room

Designed to a U-shaped floor plan, the desk comprises a broad central bridge with storage units on each wing. "Custom Consoles' Module-R range was ideal for our requirements," comments Andrew Kelly, Director of Wolverhampton-based Commercial Security Systems. "It includes a very robust and attractively styled series of desk modules which can be integrated into what is effectively a bespoke design without the attendant high cost and long delivery time. We also commissioned a matching multi-screen video display racking system, MediaWall. The MediaWall is located in front of the control desk and supports six 32 inch LCD video monitor screens in a three-wide by two-high array. An additional 12 LCD monitor screens are mounted on Ergotron arms attached directly to the control desk. These can be fingertip-adjusted to suite the individual viewing preferences and height of the control room staff." Integral to the desk are six ventilated storage bays which house computers and peripheral equipment. Two are located at the left extremity of the desk, one in the centre and three at the right. The extended side wings provide a large horizontal surface area which can be used as temporary storage space for documentation. Designed to accommodate large or small arrays of flat-panel monitors and ancillary equipment, Media Wall incorporates height-adjustable horizontal beams suspended between 2 metre high silver-anodised aluminium columns. Beams are available in 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 mm widths and allow easy attachment of large and small panels using pivoting VESA and plasma-mount fittings. Horizontal cable trunking is provided at the rear of each beam and vertical trunking at the rear of each column, enabling easy and expandable housing of power and video wiring. Equipment pods with 19 inch racking behind removable vented panels can be accommodated at floor-level.
