Custom Consoles to double its size at IBC 2009
April 3, 2009Following a successful IBC 2008, Custom Consoles is doubling its planned 2009 exhibit space.
"We confirmed three major orders for broadcast furniture at IBC 2008 and met a large number of potential new customers as well as existing clients," comments Gary Fuller, Sales Manager at Custom Consoles. "The internet has become increasingly important as a sales window but a good trade exhibition allows people to experience the constructional quality and ergonomic features of our furniture first-hand. We experienced very healthy visitor traffic throughout IBC 2008 which, combined with a new product launch planned for this year's show, encouraged us to opt for a larger stand."
Custom Consoles specialises in making furniture to individual shapes, sizes and specifications, either from client instructions or from variants of its standard ranges of desks, monitor racks, storage furniture, mobile equipment pods and computer screen supports. The company's Module-R product range enables robust, efficient and attractive control-room desks to be produced quickly and cost-effectively from a selection of high-quality pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. The desk pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10 U chassis capacity. Cabinet construction is in high-quality veneered MDF. Other features include continuous brush-strip cable access to front worktops. Recent additions to the Module-R range include new 19 inch rear-desk equipment pods, new front-access panels with increased ventilation, and optional hardwood worktop buffers.
The innovative and highly successful Media Wall is designed to accommodate large or small arrays of flat-panel monitors and ancillary equipment. Media Wall incorporates height-adjustable horizontal beams suspended between 2 metre high silver-anodised aluminium columns. Beams are available in 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 mm widths and allow easy attachment of large and small panels using pivoting VESA and plasma-mount fittings. Horizontal cable trunking is provided at the rear of each beam and vertical trunking at the rear of each column, enabling easy and expandable housing of power and video wiring. Equipment pods with 19 inch racking behind removable vented panels can be accommodated at floor-level.
Custom Consoles' Media Desk forms the basis of an ergonomically-efficient and cost-effective working environment for desktop editing systems, allowing users to adjust working posture at their own desk or when operating across several locations. Height adjustment can be made quickly and easily using a retracting handle operating through a geared drive.
System 2 is a multi-element furniture system designed to accommodate free-standing or pod-mounted equipment such as graphics workstations and editing terminals. The latest version, introduced at IBC2008, has many new features including a front-facing cable-access slot eliminating the need to loop cables from the rear. The System 2 range includes the S2-01B desk and S2-2B, both electrically adjustable in height from 660 to 1,200 mm.
Custom Consoles will be exhibiting on stand B15 in Hall 8 at IBC 2009, RAI-Centre, Amsterdam, September 11-15.
