Custom Consoles wins major Museum of London contract
May 8, 2007* See Custom Consoles on Stand 19.135 at IFSEC2007, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, May 21-24 * The Museum of London has chosen Custom Consoles to design and install a three-seat control desk for its Security Operations Centre. Based on Custom Consoles' M Desk Technical range of control room furniture, the unit is constructed as a 3.5 metre long single structure with a 1.8 metre wide supervisor's position set at 90 degrees to the main length. The supervisor is in line-of-sight communication with an adjacent administration assistant and a security-camera controller. "The desk forms the basis of a new suite monitoring safety and security at three networked locations: the Museum of London itself, the Museum in Docklands and the Museum's Archaeological Archive," comments Paul Dent, Security Operations Manager at the Museum of London. "We specified the L-shaped design and provided the approximate dimensions. Custom Consoles responded quickly and efficiently and have provided good after-sales support." The 720 mm high work-surface is finished in hard-wearing blue Marmoleum with curved PVC edging. The desk is supported by extruded aluminium legs combining strength with attractive styling and integral cable management. A three-drawer pedestal, computer storage bay and desktop equipment mounting pod are incorporated, all finished in maple. Custom Consoles also supplied four Ergotron adjustable monitor arms, each holding a 19 inch LCD computer display. Designed to provide bespoke control room desking within fast delivery dates, Custom Consoles' M Desk Technical range combines standard modules with a client-specific choice of worktop dimensions and add-on units. Three-layer cable management with access panels runs throughout the entire desk length. Built at Custom Consoles' UK manufacturing facility, M Desk Technical desks are available within typical lead-times of 14 to 21 working days.
