Latest Custom Consoles Module-R and SystemTwo Desks Attract Positive Customer Response at IBC2018

Wednesday, September 26th, 2018

Leighton Buzzard, UK, September 26, 2018 – Custom Consoles reports very positive customer responses to its latest Module-R and SystemTwo studio desks, introduced in their enhanced forms at the mid-September International Broadcasting Convention. The show itself, held at the Amsterdam RAI exhibition centre, attracted nearly 56,000 registered visitors, close to the highest-ever attendance of nearly 57,669 achieved in 2017.

“Some people question the value of big trade shows in today’s connected world particularly when they have to sign the purchase order for another year,” says Custom Consoles’ Managing Director Neil Reed. “Of the various shows we support, IBC continues to generate the greatest amount of real business. Most of our IBC2018 stand visitors were from mainland Europe plus about average attendance from the UK and and small but significant turnout from America, Canada, Africa and the Middle East. We also had useful meetings with key European broadcast system integrators, many of whom are active on upgrade projects across the continent and beyond.”

“Examples of our newly enhanced Module-R studio control room furniture and SystemTwo edit-suite desks were on display,” details Sales Manager Gary Fuller. “The Module-R series offers customers the freedom to specify desks and storage pods of practically any shape and size from a range of standard modules. The enhanced version launched at IBC2018 incorporates slimmer legs plus very easy access to cableways. A full length rear cable brush strip provides a high level of flexibility for power and signal feeds to desk-mounted monitor arms. We have also introduced optional full-height end panels and given customers the choice of Compact Density Fibreboard or the established worktops for pods and work surfaces.”

A mix-and-matchable control room furniture range, Custom Consoles’ Module-R enables aesthetically attractive long-life desks to be configured in a variety of shapes and dimensions from a selection of high-quality pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desk pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10 rack unit chassis capacity. Module-R has been tested by FIRA to ensure compliance with current ISO standards. It is supplied with full cable management and internal 19 inch racking, accessible via removable front and rear cover panels. All rear surfaces and pods are completely interchangeable. A full length cable brush allows easy reconfiguration.

“SystemTwo series comprises a robust desk and separate monitor shelf, developed for graphics suites where staff tend either to hot-desk or appreciate being able to choose between working seated or standing,” Gary Fuller adds. “Both are electrically height-adjustable from 660 to 1200 mm. The new versions of SystemTwo match the new style and colour scheme of the latest Module-R. Lift load for both platforms has been doubled to 200 kilograms, again with a slimmer leg design and CDF desktop surfaces. We will continue to offer the original version for customers who prefer the latter’s light-wood desk surfaces, large-radius curved styling and silver legs.”

The new Module-R and SystemTwo desks will be available for delivery from early November.

See Custom Consoles on Stand 8.B38e at IBC 2018, Amsterdam, September 14-18

Leighton Buzzard, UK, September 4, 2018 – Custom Consoles announces enhancements to its Module-R range of studio control room furniture and SystemTwo edit-suite desks. Both are scheduled for introduction on the company’s stand, 8.B38e, at the September 14-18 IBC 2018 exhibition in Amsterdam.

“Module-R is one of our longest established product ranges, installed and operating successfully in many broadcast networks, post production houses and playout facilities around the world,” says Custom Consoles’ Managing Director Neil Reed. “It was developed to give customers and system integrators the freedom to specify desks and storage pods of practically any shape and size from a range of standard modules. The new version incorporates slimmer legs plus a removable rear work surface which allows easy access to cableways. A full length rear cable brush strip provides greater flexibility for power and signal feeds to desk-mounted monitor arms. Optional full-height end panels are now available. Customers can now choose CDF (Compact Density Fibreboard) for pods and work surfaces. CDF is increasingly being recommended by architects both for its attractive styling and its robustness.”

A mix-and-matchable control room furniture range, Custom Consoles’ Module-R allows aesthetically attractive long-life desks to be configured to meet specific shapes and dimensions from a selection of high-quality pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desk pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10 U chassis capacity.

“SystemTwo has also been redesigned to match the new style and colour scheme of Module-R,” adds Sales Manager Gary Fuller. “Designed for use in edit suites and graphics areas, SystemTwo comprises a rectangular desk and parallel monitor shelf, both being electrically height adjustable from 660 to 1200 mm. This gives operators the choice of working while seated or standing. Lift load for both platforms has been doubled to 200 kilograms, again with a slimmer leg design and CDF desktop surfaces. Other elements in the SystemTwo series include an 11 U equipment pedestal, underslung 3U equipment pod and 27 U equipment bay. All will be available in the new styling. We will continue to offer the original SystemTwo for customers who prefer the latter’s light-wood desk surfaces, large-radius curved styling and silver legs.”

Custom Consoles Module-R Desks Go Live for US Tennis

Wednesday, August 29th, 2018

Leighton Buzzard, UK, August 29, 2018 – Custom Consoles studio control room desks were fielded on the US East Coast this summer for one of the premier tournaments in the annual tennis calendar. A large contingent of desks in the Module-R range were delivered to the USA for the two-week event which was broadcast live to television audiences around the globe.

“The ability to transport Module-R in sections has long been greatly appreciated by mobile production specialists and the supporting dry-hire and wet-hire rental services,” says Custom Consoles’ Sales Manager Gary Fuller.

“We have already seen as many as 30 of our desks deployed across sports events this summer by the large-scale OB companies. These include the world football championships in Russia where they were used by operators controlling a wide range of technical facilities in the International Broadcast Centre.”

“We completed and delivered a large amount of Module-R flyaway control room furniture for the US tennis tournament alone. The majority are two-bay and three-bay desks in standard sections with worktops and side panels, designed for easy transportation and quick setup. Most important of all, they allow very fast installation of control-room equipment such as camera shading, vision switchers, audio mixers, intercoms and video monitors.”
