Custom Consoles announces the completion of a project to supply desks and monitor screen supports for an IT suite at Harrods Ltd in Knightsbridge. The contract was awarded by Keyzone, a specialist in supplying IT connectivity solutions. It includes two desks from the Custom Consoles M-Desk range, one configured to accommodate two operators and the other an L-shaped supervisor’s desk. These are equipped with a total of three Ergotron adjustable monitor arms supporting 19 inch LCD computer screens. A Custom Consoles Monitor Wall supports an additional 10 flat panel screens.

“Custom Consoles’ proven experience in the technical furniture business made them a logical choice for this project,” comments Keyzone’s Business Development Manager Peter Parrish. “The M-Desk and Media Wall product ranges enabled the client’s requirements to be matched exactly, combining versatile configurability, reliable construction, attractive styling and sensible pricing.”

“M-Desk and Media Wall have both proved very successful in the information technology market,” adds Custom Consoles Sales Manager Gary Fuller. “The desks are FIRA approved and have extruded aluminium support pillars which deliver the twin benefits of light weight and high structural rigidity. In place of the usual Melamine worktops, they have a hard-wearing Marmoleum upper surface to match Harrods’ corporate green.”

Custom Consoles’ M-Desk series incorporate cable management ducts as standard, with optional CPU holders and ergonomic LCD monitor arms as required. M-Desk is augmented by a selection of matching pedestals and storage furniture. An optional height adjuster is available which enables staff to avoid backache and RSI by varying their working posture. This is achieved by means of a telescopic handle which returns into the profile of the desk when not required.

Custom Consoles Media Wall is designed to accommodate large or small arrays of flat-panel monitors and ancillary equipment. It incorporates height-adjustable horizontal beams suspended between 2 metre high silver-anodised aluminium supports. Beams are available in 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 mm widths and allow easy attachment of large and small panels using pivoting VESA and plasma-mount fittings. A horizontal cable duct beneath each monitor mounting beam routes to a vertical coil, enabling easy and expandable housing of power and video wiring. Equipment pods with 19 inch racking behind removable vented panels can be accommodated at floor-level.

Based in Wembley, Keyzone specialises in helping transform the corporate IT environment into an efficient and cost effective operation. It is a leading supplier of keyboard, monitor and mouse (KVM) switches, KVM extenders, 19 inch cabinets and modular racking. Its customer base covers a wide spectrum of organisations from small companies to some of the world’s top blue chip corporates.
