Custom Consoles Module-R chosen for navy training centre

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Custom Consoles Module-R desks have been chosen by BAE Systems Integrated System Technologies (Insyte) as part of a contract to supply PC-based submarine simulators for training facilities run by the Royal Navy. Eight desks have been delivered to HM Naval Base Clyde, Faslane, headquarters of the Royal Navy in Scotland. Seven additional Module-R desks have also been supplied for installation at a site overseas.

“Insyte was looking for desks of a specific size with internal PC storage,” comments Custom Consoles sales manager Gary Fuller. “Module-R range met its requirements exactly, including an integral ventilated PC accommodation bay, without incurring the cost of site-specific design and manufacture. Flexible configuration is a central feature of Module-R and has made it one of the most successful products in the company’s history.”

Module-R can be tailored to individual requirements from a wide choice of standard-design components and delivered to site without the delays incurred in designing, cutting and assembling one-off furniture. Clients can choose from a range of desk pods, base sections, worktops, rear tops, end-panel modules and forward-angled extruded aluminium legs. Cable management ducts are integrated into each desk section.

Module-R desk pods can be configured as a single, dual and triple-bay section with a choice of 3U, 6U or 8U chassis capacity. Cabinet construction is in high-quality MDF with a choice of Formica or Linoleum work-surfaces. Assembly is very straightforward though a fitting service is available if required. Delivery is normally within 15 working days.
