Custom Consoles goes independent

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

Custom Consoles Limited (CCL), one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of control room furniture and equipment support housings, announces that it has become a commercially independent company. Established in 1996 as a subsidiary of broadcast systems integrator ATG Spectrum (renamed ATG Broadcast Ltd in 2001), CCL has broadened its scope over the years and is now strongly established in the process control, surveillance and architectural-support markets while retaining its core focus on bespoke, standard-design and modular television and radio studio desks.

Following the acquisition of ATG Broadcast by Copenhagen-based Danmon Systems Group A/S, CCL is now operating as a fully independent company. CCL co-founder Neil Reed joins as full-time Managing Director, having previously worked for both enterprises in design and senior management roles. Shareholdings in CCL remain entirely unchanged.

“This development strengths our position in the broadcast market,” Neil Reed explains, “by enabling us to expand our relationship with other systems integrators as well working directly for major clients. CCL is in a very healthy condition with an expanding product range and plenty of scope for future development. We wish ATG Broadcast every success under its new ownership and will be competing for its business as a keen independent contractor.”

Now in its 10th year, Custom Consoles Limited ( manufactures a broad range of studio and technical-support furniture including motorised, manually adjustable and fixed-height units plus fan-cooled sound-insulated equipment housings. Based in Bedfordshire, England, the company is active worldwide.
