Custom Consoles has won a contract worth 15,000 pounds sterling for the supply of technical furniture to a new closed-circuit television monitoring centre at St Helens, Lancashire. The order comprises a 5.5 metre monitor wall, two kidney-shaped operator consoles, plus a video tape review console. Custom Consoles has additionally been contracted to install mains distribution to the monitor wall. The project is being undertaken for St Helens Council by Tyco Integrated Systems, part of Tyco Fire & Security Services, the largest security solution provider to residential, business and governmental customers and the world’s largest fire protection company. The system is due for completion this spring and will provide the latest in CCTV surveillance of St Helens town centre and a number of outlying areas.

Sales manager Gary Fuller comments: “Custom Consoles’ long experience of the broadcast market makes the company a logical supplier to the security industry. Our furniture is structurally optimised to provide strong, stable and reliable support for camera controllers, vision switchers, computer equipment and picture monitors. The modular nature of our furniture products enables us to match a wide range applications quickly and cost-effectively. Where needed, we can also design and manufacture purely customised furniture to the same high standards of durability.”
